Liberty University is a private school in Lynchburg, Virginia. This is a Christian university that has a student body over 60,000. The school offers over 60 degree programs and is considered the world’s largest Evangelical Christian university.

The university was founded in 1971. At that time it’s name was Lynchburg Baptist College. In 1976 the name changed to Liberty Baptist College and then in 1984 the school had a final change to the current name. The main focus of the school is to provide students a religious experience during their college years. The school often hosts speakers and leaders in religion at the school.

Academically, the school provides associate, bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate degrees. Students have internship opportunities in various locations, including mission opportunities. The classes are taught by the professors not graduate assistants. Students get a high quality education from professors who are non-tenured.

The school is very focused on providing a moral learning environment that is rich in religion and religious viewpoints. There are high behavioral standards, which include prohibiting drugs, alcohol and coed living quarters. The dress code is modest and respect for others, especially faculty, is strictly enforced. On the campus there are plenty of facilities, like a swimming pool, apartment style dorms, a clubhouse, billiards room, private theater and a convenience store. The campus also has a tunnel running from the east to the west. There is also a shuttle service taking students around campus and off campus to nearby shopping locations and other destinations. The campus is a large area and the surrounding community offers opportunities as well. Students are never at a loss for something to do between on and off campus activities and events. Students can stay quite busy even when they are not in class with no trouble.
